Supplies needed:

 PSP

(I wrote this in X but any version will work)

Animation Shop

Plugins: No external filters needed for this tutorial

No tubes needed for this tutorial

Font of choice – I used Penguin Attack HERE

Scrap Kit (PTU): “SPOOKY” by Mirella of

Scrapity Scrap and More HERE

Template: Template 14 by me HERE

(don’t forget to leave some love)

 

Let’s get started!

 

 

Open your template in PSP

Image > Canvas size = 750 X 675, center placement

  

Click on sq background layer

Selections > Float > Defloat

Open Paper 15

Copy and paste as a new layer

Selections > Invert

Hit delete

 

Click on sq background frame layer

Selections > Float > Defloat

Open Paper 13

Copy and paste as a new layer

Selections > Invert > Delete

Add drop shadow

0, 0, 75, 10

 

Click on large rectangular background layer

Selections > Float > Defloat

Open Paper 2

Copy and paste as a new layer

Selections > Invert > Delete

 

Click on large rectangular frame layer

Selections > Float > Defloat

Open Paper 11

Copy and paste as a new layer

Selections > Invert > Delete

Add same drop shadow

  

Click on rectangular background layer

Selections > Float > Defloat

Open Paper4

Selections > Invert > Delete

 

Click on rectangular frame background layer

Activate your manual color correction tool

Change your Source color to #404040 and your Target color to #000000

Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise

Uniform, 83, Monochrome checked

Repeat Noise

Add same drop shadow

  

Click on center rectangle layer

Selections > Float > Defloat

Open Paper9

Copy and paste as new layer

Selections > Invert > Delete

Add same drop shadow

 

Click on small left bg layer

Selections > Float > Defloat

Open Paper7

Copy and paste as new layer

Selections > Invert > Delete

 

Click on small center bg layer

Selections > Float > Defloat

Open Paper8

Copy and paste as new layer

Selections > Invert > Delete

 

Click on small right bg layer

Selections > Float > Defloat

Open Paper6

Copy and paste as new layer

Selections > Invert > Delete

Merge your 3 small backgrounds together

 

Click on center frames layer

Selections > Float > Defloat

Open Paper3

Copy and paste as new layer

Resize by 80%

Selections > Invert > Delete

Add same drop shadow

  

Open Clipart_spider

Copy and paste as a new layer

Resize by 60% and position on top left of your purple frame

(see mine for placement)

Drag layer below your small left background layer

Sharpen and add a drop shadow

0, 0, 80, 7

 

Click on your top layer of your layers palette

Open Clipart_bat

Image > Mirror

Copy and paste as a new layer

Resize by 60% and sharpen

Position at top right of your canvas

Add same drop shadow

 

Open Clipart_mummie

Copy and paste as a new layer

Drag below center frames layer and center on the left background

 Resize by 80% and sharpen

Use your eraser or selection tool to remove any of the mummie showing outside of the frame

Add a drop shadow

0, 0, 80, 7

  

Open Clipart_frankenstein

Copy and paste as a new layer

Resize by 30% and free rotate 20 degrees right

Center on right small frame background

Sharpen and add same drop shadow

 

Click on your center frames layer

Open Clipart_cat

Copy and paste as new layer

Resize by 80% and sharpen

Position over center frame

(see mine for placement)

Add same drop shadow

Rename cat open

Duplicate layer and rename cat closed

 

Click on your cat closed layer and zoom in on the eyes

Activate your clone brush

 

 

and use the following settings:

 

 

Right click on the yellow part of the left eye

 

 

Then put your cursor over the eyeball and left click

 

Repeat both steps until the eyeball is completely removed

 

Do the same for the right eye

 

When you are finished, hide the closed eye layer

 

Open Clipart_spook

Copy and paste as new layer

Resize by 80% and sharpen

Position at the bottom right of your canvas

Add same drop shadow

Rename spook open

Duplicate layer and rename spook closed

 

Repeat the same steps you did with the cat’s eyes

for the spook's eyes

 

Hide spook closed layer when you are done

 

Open Clipart_Hat2

Copy and paste as new layer

Resize by 40% and free rotate 20 degrees left

Position over cat’s head

Sharpen and add the same drop shadow

 

Open Clipart_Pumpkin

Copy and paste as new layer

Resize by 60% and position at the bottom left of your canvas

Sharpen and add the same drop shadow

 

Open Clipart_Ghostsign

Copy and paste as new layer

Resize by 75% and sharpen

Drag layer below your purple rectangle

(see mine for placement)

Sharpen and add the same drop shadow

 

Click on the top layer of your layers palette

Open Bow1

Copy and paste as new layer

Resize by 65% and position at the top left of your purple frame

Sharpen and add the same drop shadow

 

Open Brad3

Copy and paste as new layer

Resize by 40% and position at the top right of your purple rectangle

(see mine for placement)

Sharpen and add the same drop shadow

 

Open CrumpleRibbon2

Copy and paste as new layer

Resize by 60% and position at the top of your purple rectangle

Drag ribbon layer below spider layer

(see mine for placement)

 

Sharpen and add the same drop shadow

 

Image > Canvas size

Change height to 700, bottom placement

 

Add your copyright and any text

 

Image > Resize by 66% all layers checked

 

Hide your white background

 

***your cat closed layer and your spook closed layers

should be hidden***

 

Edit > Copy Merged

  

Open Animation Shop

Ctrl V to paste as new animation

 

Back in PSP

Hide your spook open layer and unhide your spook closed layer

 

Edit > Copy Merged

 

Back in AS

Edit > Paste After Current Frame

Hit your right arrow once to activate new frame

 

Back in PSP

Hide your spook closed layer and unhide your spook open layer

 Edit > Copy Merged

  

Back in AS

Edit > Paste After Current Frame

Hit your right arrow once to activate new frame

 

Back in PSP

Hide your cat open layer and unhide your cat closed layer

 Edit > Copy Merged

 

Back in AS

Edit > Paste After Current Frame

Ctrl A to select all frames

 

Animation > Animation Properties

Click Opaque and change color to white

Hit OK

  

Click on Frame 2

Edit > Copy

Click on Frame 3

Edit > Paste after Current Frame

 

Click on Frame 2

Hold your shift key down and click on Frame 4

Animation > Frame Properties > 15

 

Click on Frame 1

Animation > Frame Properties > 50

  

Click on Frame 5

Animation > Frame Properties > 25

  

Animation > Resize Animation (if necessary)

View > Animation

File > SAVE AS!!!!
