Play Ball

I’m using the fabulous licensed work Keith Garvey which can be purchased at MPT
Supplies needed:
PSP
(I wrote this in X but any version will work)
Animation Shop
Plugins: no outside plugins needed
Tube of choice
Font of choice – I used Varsity
Mask: WSL_Mask117 HERE
Scrap Kit (FTU): Play Ball (ALS Awareness) by Tracey of Soxsational Scraps HERE
(includes scoreboard and marquee graphic made by me)
Let’s get started!
Put your mask in your Mask folder
Unzip your supplies
Open your scoreboard graphic in PSP
Open a new canvas 650 X 700 and flood fill with white
Open TWBBPaper4
Layers > Load/Save Mask from Disk
Find WSL_Mask117 from the drop down
Fit to canvas, Show all mask and Source Luminance checked
Hit Load
Merge Group
Copy and paste as new layer onto your canvas
Resize by 95% and free rotate 90 degrees left
Activate your vector rectangle tool
Set your foreground to #2a4e7c and your background to Null
Create on Vector
Width = 12
Anti-Alias checked
Draw out a rectangle on your canvas
(see mine for reference)
Objects >Align > Center in canvas
Convert to raster
Open KSBBPaper 5
Edit > Copy
With your magic wand, click inside the rectangle frame
Selections > Modify > Expand by 4
Paste paper 5 as a new layer
Selections > Invert
Hit delete
Drag paper below frame layer
Click on your frame layer and add drop shadow
0, 0, 80, 7.5
Copy and paste scoreboard onto your canvas
Resize by 75% and sharpen
Add same drop shadow
Copy and paste your tube and position to your liking
Drag layer below scoreboard
Add drop shadow
Open KSBBPennant Flag 2
Copy and paste onto your canvas
Resize by 50 % and free rotate 30 degrees right
Position top left of your canvas
Sharpen and add same drop shadow
Open KSBBPennant Flag 1
Copy and paste onto your canvas
Resize by 50 % and position at the bottom left of your frame
Free rotate 25 degrees left
Sharpen and add same drop shadow
Open KSBBTied Ribbon 03
Copy and paste onto your canvas
Resize by 60% and position on the top right corner of your frame
Open KSBBTBeaded String 03
Rotate right
Copy and paste onto your canvas
Resize by 80 % and position on the top right corner of your frame so the staple is over the bow loop
(see mine for reference)
Click on your bow layer
Selections > Float > Defloat
Click on your beaded string layer and erase part covering the top left part of the bow loop
Sharpen and merge string and bow together
Add same drop shadow
Open KSBBBat and Ball 1
Rotate right
Copy and paste onto your canvas
Resize by 80%, sharpen, and drag below tube layer
(see mine for placement)
Open TWBBTed
Copy and paste onto your canvas
Resize by 30% and position bottom right of your canvas
(see mine for placement)
Sharpen and add same drop shadow
Open KSBBButterfly 1
Copy and paste onto your canvas
Resize by 30% and free rotate 25 degrees left
Position at the top of your frame
(see mine for placement)
Add same drop shadow
Open KSBBButterfly 3
Copy and paste onto your canvas
Resize by 30% and free rotate 25 degrees right
Position towards the top of your scoreboard
(see mine for placement)
Add same drop shadow
Image > Canvas size
Change height to 750 (bottom placement)
Click on your background layer and flood fill with white
Click on your raster deform tool and stretch the mask layer down and to the right a bit to fill up the white area
Add your copyright and any text
(make sure your text doesn’t fall much below the bat)
Hide your white background and merge visible
Resize your canvas by 67% (all layers checked)
Sharpen if needed
Edit > Copy
Open Animation Shop
Ctrl V to paste as new animation
Duplicate your canvas until you have 27 frames
(delete any excess frames)
Ctrl A to select all frames
Open playballmarqueebyjill_animation
Ctrl A to select all frames
Ctrl C to copy
Click on the blue bar of your canvas
Ctrl E to position marquee
Center at bottom of canvas
Animation > Animation Properties
Opaque > White
Animation > Frame Properties > 17
View > Animation and Save As!
